How to determine the style of your General Motors car.
Many of our products are designed for specific cars. The charts, diagrams, and other identification
sources on this page are provided to help you identify or confirm the body type, year, and style of your car.
Body Types:
GM has used different names to identify similar body-styles. To minimize ordering errors, we use the
following standardized names throughout our parts listings:
2-door & 4-door hardtop: (2ht;) (4ht;) (2-4ht;)
Models without a solid frame surrounding each door glass. A hardtop has a wide-open side when all
side glasses are down. Some GM divisions call their 4-doors “sedans”, while we don't.
2-door & 4-door sedan (2dpost;) (4dpost;) (2-4dpost;)
Models with a solid frame surrounding the door glass. These cars appear to have a “post”
in the center of the side glass opening when the doors are closed and the glasses down.
2-door & 4-door wagon (2wgn;)(4wgn;)
All Station Wagon models with or without solid door frames surrounding the door glass.
Convertible (Conv;)
All 2-door models with folding soft-tops.
All Models (All;)
Parts we believe will fit all body styles for the years listed.
